Sawmill Lakes is located between the roundabout and the ICW bridge in the region of Ponte Vedra Beach known as Palm Valley. This private residential community is ungated with two points of entry from CR-210, also known as Palm Valley Road. It is close to the intersection of Mickler Road and CR-210 giving it more points of easy access from A1A than some communities further up 210. Sawmill Lakes does not have a club affiliation but does have a community clubhouse and various amenities that are shared by the residents.

Getting a feel for Sawmill Lakes

Unlike other homes in the area the architecture in this community differs from lot to lot. The varying architecture and home style make the neighborhood feel more like an established community rather than a new development. Though most homes are not as large as those in Old Ponte Vedra, the beautiful architecture and distinct flavor of each mirrors the same type of neighborhood feel one gets from the homes along the beach.

Navigating the Sawmill Lakes community

If there was a prize for most meandering roads in a Ponte Vedra Beach community, Sawmill Lakes would likely be the lucky recipient. There are a few main roads with fewer twists and turns, but in order to give the best views of the lakes and to preserve the natural assets of the Florida land, the neighborhood’s roads snake around in many different directions. Lots vary in size and shape throughout the neighborhood. Some are quite generous and provide exceptional privacy while others are smaller and positioned for more of an open neighborhood and village feel.

The two entry points feature some lovely simple landscaping and nice architectural details and make the community stand out from surrounding small neighborhoods. A large fence and open entryway posts along CR 210 give the community a safe but welcoming feel. Landscaping and common areas of the Sawmill Lakes community currently are maintained by May Management Services, which is based locally in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
